This is the repository for the English version of the Future Elderly Model, originally developed at the Leonard D. Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Microsimulation.
First attempt didn't work as planned, data from ELSA_long.dta wasn't filtered properly (maybe due to age) and the resulting trend was erratic. Need to take another good look through the handover_ELSA.do file and try to recreate again. Pay particular attention to the use of the 55p_f_l and 55p_m_l sub-populations as I don't remember including them in the R script. They represent people aged 55+ of either gender who are alive in the current wave. These are the key pops for the handovers.
Steps:
[ ] Plot trends from ELSA_long for key chronic diseases and ADL/IADLs
When these look similar to the stata script outputs, move on
[ ] Plot trends from whole length of baseline FEM run
[ ] Plot the two together, make sure both are labelled correctly
