Can you provide documentation on how 'names' are used on LDbase?
There are 3 name fields in the "Edit Person" webpage: Display Name, First/Middle/Last Name, Additional Publishing Names.
In your documentation, please include how and where LDbase uses these names (and how it chooses which one to use).
(after you do that, I would be happy to update our instructional text on the webpage where people add this information too; because our users are confused also of what is happening with their names and citations).
Also, in your documentation, please include anything else about names like:
What name is displayed to the public from your account a.)when someone clicks on a Person from browsing b.) when someone clicks on a Contributor field within a project/dataset/doc.; etc.
What is name is used for citation. Include both if the person has an account linked, and also if they do not.
When someone types in a name of someone not on LDbase, how is the citation name created?
Just kind of a record of all things 'names' so we can answer our users questions about this. Thanks.
