Also posted in Flock: I've been reviewing this item and unfortunately can't find any modern UI component that would fit this request. The closest we would be able to get is a paginated view of all of the items (some 200+ in the case of assessment) and then apply some sort of checkbox form component to each item. Anything else would have to be custom built. I have the very strong feeling after reviewing current lit is the reason something like this is not popular is that it requires users to 1) Know the exact name of the item they're looking for, especially if things are listed in alphabetical order. With autocomplete, they can get partial matches based on any part of the name 2) The time to locate and select an item on a page within a list of items takes far more time and cognitive-load to accomplish. These two reasons are mainly why autocomplete dropdowns are the "gold standard" of multiple item selection within large data-sets. Please reopen if you have any additional questions OR if you've found an example of the proposed UI that works well.
There's no technical solution to this unless a different UI is found.
When creating projects/datasets/etc, we had discussed (from Heather's UX) having an easier selection method for seeing the full list of terms available for that category and for being able to add multiple terms at once to your dataset. (good example: assessments)
Decision was Dev team to: Increase number of terms listed per page, perhaps add “jump to letter” banner across top of page - all of this should be readdressed when dev team shows us revisions (might not need “jump to” if they’re all displayed on one screen)
Psy team discussion this week: We do like that people can type in terms and metadata pops up, that works well. Can we do grid style viewing or a grid style popup? See all terms at once? Create github with "Potential Burndown List" label
