check memory usage in ApRES #3

check memory usage in ApRES SD cards against that calculated by ApRESCalculator.xlsx.

This probably involves setting up the ApRES to run in unattended mode (i.e. editing the config file and switching it on), leaving it for several hours, then comparing the size of the data on the SD card to the size predicted by ApRESCalculator.xlsx.

This relates to the SD card purchase. So after using the ApRESCalculate.xlsx, it seems that if we take the recommended 20 chirps per sub burst and we do 2 attenuation settings (what Elizabeth and I did, but with 100 chirps), taking data every 15 minutes will fill up 104.5GB in a year. However with 100 chirps per sub burst, this becomes 522.5GB. Sandisk sells Extreme Pro SD cards starting at 64GB all the way up to 1TB. Would we want one SD card being sufficient to store a years data, or should it only store half a year since there's two per system? The SD cards I was looking at are all on here: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1431035-REG/sandisk_sdsdxxy_256g_ancin_extremepro_sdxc_256gb_card.html

Thanks for looking in to this so quickly.

The data is copied to the second card, so each one needs to be big enough for all the data.

Some things to consider are that, ideally, we aren't going to be leaving it a full year as we are revisited in Aug. Also Keith mentioned 64gb have been working. He didn't mention larger. The latter point just means that we need to thoroughly test (which we should do regardless of card size).

Relating to issue #5, the SD cards were ordered before the break and should be at Lamont now- @Elizabethcase Would you be able to check and see if theyre at 104 Seismology if you're at Lamont before the 17th? There should be 20 from B&H, 3 from amazon, and 1 from adorama (there were many quotas from various sites). The 2 SD card readers from amazon should also be here.

Once those are out we can test to se how consistent the data is with the calculator, and what happens when the SD card fills up.
