Auto reconnect failing to google talk #377

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Clean install of gtalksms
2. Setup for google apps (custom server, login, etc)
3. Connect manually and enable auto reconnection
4. Wait to disconnect
5. Attempts to reconnect indefinitely - never succeeding
6. Manually reconnect (works)

What is the expected output?

To automatically reconnect

What do you see instead?

Waiting to reconnect

Looking in the logs it appears unsuccessful attempts use mydomain.org.uk
(without username) and successful ones use phone@mydomain.org.uk (full account)

[for obvious reasons mydomain replaces my actual domain in the above and
attached log]

Additional informations:
Phone model: Nexus 4

Thanks for taking a look at this.

I'm on the beta program, but am unsure whether I'm testing against the correct
version. the in-app change log includes 5.0.1.82 but the version simply says
5.0 (I don't know if I am running 5.0.1.82 and the minor version numbers aren't
shown, or if I'm stuck on 5.0)

You should have 5.0.1 on the GTalkSMS connection screen. It could take some
time before Android Market performs the update. Try to check if there is
updates on Google Play

Thanks. 5.0.1 just came through, and now seems to work properly. Thanks for
fixing this.
