I renamed your title slightly and closed my own one as a duplicate, this would be better as a wider aquatic farm, you already described other possibilities like seagrass and pickles, but also don't forget kelp.
As complement/alternative to sea farming, there could be a Seafarer riding a spawning/de-spawning boat like those pirates ships. The Seafarer hut would be a dock for the boat to spawn or de-spawn. Seafarer would proceed similarly to the Netherminer.
Or with a more modest implementation. the Seafarer could ride a Minecraft Boat and disappear at a distance (become invisible like NetherMiner)
Seafarer could be a companion/sibling or an evolution of the Fisher. Would bring back sea features and loot. Diving and hunting at sea. He would use pickaxe/axe/bucket/shears/shovel to capture:
Possibly Kelp, Sea-Pickle and Sea-Grass farming would be more suitable for the Fisher or Plantation.
Kelp, sea pickles, seagrass and coral are currently being implemented on the plantation.

No ## Feature description I´m proposing a new farm building that makes specific ocean loot which is sometimes used in certain building upgrades farmable. The items I have in mind would be corals and their corresponding block form (maybe the hut can craft them out of the coral fans). As an added bonus the hut could produce sea pickels or sea grass at a higher level or it can be unlocked in the university. I believe making hard to get or farm items like corals more accessable could incourage the player to integrate these blocks into their decorative builds and their use in scematics. Because of the wide variety of coral kinds it is always hard to have the right colour on hand, especially when it is used in a building upgrade (and the next ocean isn´t anywhere near the colony). ### Notes or related things As an alternative: Corals (and similar unique items) could be caught by the fisherman. --- ## Viewers * Add a thumbs-up to the feature request to vote for it.
