Warehouse trash disposal. #738

Open McKitten opened 1 year ago

McKitten commented 1 year ago

Prerequisites

Warehouse 1

Context

Any future warehouse structures.

Is your feature request related to a problem?

With any non-vanilla pack there is trash that isn't worthy of space in the warehouse.

Enhancement or Change description

An extra tab on the warehouse screen under minimum stock for auto void.

Notes or related things

Even in vanilla players would use a lava pool, but this isn't viable for a wooden structure. This might be an unlockable feature for the cost of a lava bucket?

Generally, the intended solution for this sort of thing is to make uses for the trash. Any food can already be composted, for example. Tools can be repaired and smelted down for resources. Other things, within reason, could be added to the compostables, or used in some other recipe.

If it was vanilla items sure. But sacs from evilcraft poisonous libelles, nightshade berries from roots are just two of the items i am constantly removing from the warehouse - all the berries are to high in quantity if you have a lumberjack but the others are at least edible. There are ores that are the same - some not even smeltable and others just smelt into trash (which id keep for xp and dispose of the product) The space in the warehouse is never enough and it is just annoying finding groups of 2-6 of these scattered taking up inventory space. It makes running a colony in a pack as big as the AllTheMods a love hate relationship and whilst this is not minecolonies fault, i'd like some sympathy and a minor? change to the warehouse.

That just means that ATM didn't make a compatibility datapack. You can either add one yourself to make those items compostable (which seems reasonable for plant-type items in particular) or politely ask the ATM maintainers to do so in some future pack update.
