Is your feature request related to a problem?

After some discussion in Discord, we came to the conclusion that the worker assignment GUI is not laid out particularly well, also it's not clear what the meaning of certain labels in that GUI are (mainly looking at the green and yellow texts for primary and secondary skills).

Enhancement or Change description

In an effort to improve this GUI, me and a couple of other members have had a lengthy discussion and have come up with a new design. Naamloos (This is only a mock, not the final design, adjustments can still be made to this which are not reflected on the image)

Main points to note about this new design:

Also, to the person that implements this but not necessarily in Thodor's image, right-align numbers vertically please!

And try and make the stat table four columns so it's not so (my word of the day apparently) BIG!

Maybe there's space for "sort by name," "sort by current job," or "sort by stats"?

and color the primary skill on the left and under each colonist? :P lazy edit for example for only one skill: image

In the big long discussion, colours were decided against =) And I'd say no to sorting, just because I don't think it needs more information on there making it all even bigger =P

Sorting in the sense of which citizen is at the top of the list, with the sorting options on the left under/near "show employed"

I am not a fan of... basically any of these changes.

I am not a fan of... basically any of these changes.

Could you state why?

The reasoning behind this change in the first place is because of no accessibility kept in mind. It's currently not known (without prior knowledge) what the green and yellow value stand for.

Adding my two cents to this, I like the basic idea. However, I would suggest three changes:

This is a quick mockup of the changes' effects: image (please don't judge my drawing skills, tyvm)
