Had to actually turn off unit, then it showed up, sorry.

...but Mainsail loads, Fluidd don't?

leadustin commented 5 months ago

I assume that you have installed Fluidd via KIAUH? If you followed my guide accordingly, Mainsail runs on port 80. During the installation of Fluidd you got a message that you have to use a different port for Fluidd. You can use the old Qidi port 10088. I have installed Fluidd for testing purposes. Everything works as desired.

scaramonga commented 5 months ago

Yeah, I cant get it to load on any port. Gonna rip the EMMC out and flash again tomorrow.

leadustin commented 5 months ago

There is no Need to Flash again. Just uninstall via KIAUH Mainsail or Fluidd And install it again.

Did try that, no go. Flashing again now, will let you know how it goes.

Nope, no go?

Mainsail works, loads instantly, but I don't like that, no worries.

80, 8080, 10080, 10088, it wont matter, as Fluidd does not work on this method ;)

Everything all good up to that point, not a hitch. A shame, as it's a good guide, but I do desire Fluidd over Mainsail.

leadustin commented 5 months ago

This is very strange. I have installed Mainsail and Fluidd and there are no problems. Have you tried it in another browser? A firewall that blocks ports?

scaramonga commented 5 months ago

Well, been at it for days now. No way Fluidd will connect, despite flashing head, mainboard, and EMMC perfectly. Mainsail works, with a bit of faffing about. Not used to Mainsail, but it's going to have to do for now.

Ethernet all round here, and no trouble connecting to printer, well there can't be?, as Mainsail seems to not bother.

X-Plus 3.

At the end of the day, it's not your problem buddy :), so thanks for the guide, which was clear and concise. Just glad my printer is still working, lol, and I'll get used to Mainsail, no doubt ;) Things 'niggle' me though, lol, and I like to know why something does not work?, but hey-ho, that's for another day.

One last question.

Can one update 'all' from the Mainsail interface?, as in, is it safe to do so?, or will it require updating through KIAUH?

Thanks again.

Edit Even got klipper screen up and running, and screen fitted with a bracket I made, all good, apart from Fluidd, lol :)

You can search for and perform updates via the Machine tab in Mainsail. There are no problems. What I would not do is start the armbian-config in Putty and unfreeze firmware updates. After that, the printer would no longer start. However, normal updates via sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade work without problems.

Thanks.

Updates are fine :) All good, apart from the Qidi camera, that has never worked since this upgrade.

Edit

Qidi cam no longer works after this upgrade, confirmed :) (Not that it was much use anyway) There may be a way to get it working?, but I'm not bothered either way.

For the record.

Fluidd does work, but one needs to perform the 'head' update and 'Mainboard' BEFORE installing, whereas, Mainsail will work following guide to letter ;)
