are you adding any extra opts like
av_dict_set(&opts, "movflags", "frag_keyframe+empty_moov+default_base_moof", 0);
?
No, I set the dictionary to NULL. Here's the code base w/o a lot of the error checking for brevity.
// remux.c
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <stdio.h>
#include <libavutil/timestamp.h>
#include <libavformat/avformat.h>

{
AVFormatContext *input_format_context = NULL, *output_format_context = NULL;
AVDictionary *opts = NULL;

I finally figured out the issue. I needed to set packet.flags |= AV_PKT_FLAG_KEY;
- once I set that, the progress bar worked correctly.

packet.flags |= AV_PKT_FLAG_KEY;
packet.pos = -1;

ret = av_interleaved_write_frame(*output_format_context, &packet);
if (ret < 0)
{
fprintf(stderr, "Error muxing packet\n");

av_packet_unref(&packet);

When running the remuxing code against an MP4 as input and MKV as output, the media plays in VLC but the progress bar does not update. If I run ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -map 0 -c copy output.mkv, the file works fine in VLC. I've been going nuts trying to figure out what's missing to get VLC to play the output correctly. Any pointers?
