There is an intriguing panel/extension in the Hub for a "S3 Object Storage Browser" that says "This extension allows you to browse S3-compatible object storage instances, such as AWS S3 and IBM Cloud Object Storage." and asks for a provided endpoint URL and access ID. I think a How-To Guide on how/when to use this would be good?

when may desired data need to be accessed directly through this as opposed to gcsfs cloud bucket?
how to find the info to fill out the fields

Nice catch. I have actually wondered about this, and inquired with 2i2c, but I think this is not actually functional (😭). But having something like this would actually be nice. Might be worth inquiring over at https://github.com/pangeo-forge/pangeo-forge-recipes/pull/556 who introduced this and if there is a way we can more generally adopt it for pangeo deployments like ours
