Hi,
We've installed the same Windows 10 x64 Anniversary build but cannot reproduce the issue locally. Could you please help to check? Just go where programs are installed (typically C:\Program Files\Leapdroid\VM). Right click file "LeapdroidVMDrv.sys". Can you see the digital signing status?
Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the time you've given for this issue.
We've installed the same Windows 10 x64 Anniversary build but cannot reproduce the issue locally.
Does the Windows 10 build you've used to reproduce this problem was upgraded to the Windows Aniversary Update (I mean, was it updated or was the update already installed)?
Because my laptop has a clean install of Windows 10 Home (with the Anniversary Update already on it) and this issue occurs when I install Leapdroid. On the other hand, I tried to reproduce this issue on a laptop (which was updated recently to the Windows 10 Anniversary Update - not a clean install) and there was no issue on installing Leapdroid.
Could you please help to check? Just go where programs are installed (typically C:\Program Files\Leapdroid\VM). Right click file "LeapdroidVMDrv.sys". Can you see the digital signing status?
Additional info:
Even with the issues encountered (and mentioned above), Leapdroid was still installed. But when opening the program loads the Leapdroid splash screen and then a popup that says "Unknown internal error". And clicking OK closes the popup and the application.
But I was able to run Leapdroid when I disabled the driver signature enforcement on the startup settings. Of course, opening Leapdroid will always require a restart and this way is too much hassle and I don't want to alter the startup settings of my machine.
Hope this information helps. Thanks.
Thanks for your reply. We see similar issue with Virtualbox itself on forums. We will try to follow your description to reproduce the issue. Please do give us some time. We have several types of device at hand with Windows 10 (tablet, laptop, desktop) but none of them have this issue.
I have this error too, can't run LeapDroid :(
Hi, It seems this could happen only with a fresh-installed Windows 10 1607 PC with secure boot on. We are working on upgrading our signing mechanism. But this takes time. I believe turning off secure boot via BIOS could be helpful in this case.
I turn off secure boot and it work well. Thank you.
Turning the secure boot off might help but I think it is not the appropriate solution to this issue. Especially for non-technical person, just saying.
v1.7.0.0
Installing the latest version (v1.7.0.0
), the notification "A digitally signed driver is required" still occurs and the installation still completes. However, Leapdroid will now open without the "Unknown internal error" pop-up and I was able to use it without restarting my computer and disabling the driver signature enforcement via startup settings.
Just giving some updates on my experience with the latest version.
You are definitely right. We also want to solve the issue but this is not something we can control. Let me give a bit more details. To pass the new Windows 10 driver signing verification, we have to go through something called EV sign. The frustration here is that this EV sign is not something we simply register and go. They have a lot to do (what I basically understand is they hired 3rd party to verify our information such as address and a lot more). We've waited for them for quite some time. This is really something we do not have control. Once the EV sign registration is OK, we will update our driver signing immediately.
I am still facing this issue!! You guys still waiting for EV sign registration?
no solution yet?
Hi. May I know if the driver is already approved? I've been waiting for it. Thank you.
I am also getting this, is it possible to manually install the driver?
I was able to fix a part of this by following this guide http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how-to-disable-driver-signature-verification-on-64-bit-windows-8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/ The popup still came up about an unsigned driver but i was able to use the leapdroid vm

I've been doing that, but I want the real fix. It's a p.i.a. restarting my computer everytime I use leapdroid.
I was having the same problem on my laptop. I was able to run Leapdroid from my pc because it was a Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrade. Last night, the new Windows 10 update (which was quite large) was installed and changed my version from 1607 to 1703. I installed Leapdroid again and it is working perfectly. Woohoo
I have a ASUS tp301ua laptop with Windows 10 Home, version 1607 installed. I was unable to install Leapdroid properly because of a Windows Compatibility Assistant popup:
Leapdroid was installed but when opening it, a popup that says "Unknown internal error" occurs. When I click OK it just closes.
The new driver signing changes implemented by Microsoft might be causing this issue since VirtualBox Support Driver is not digitally signed according to their Program Compatibility Assitant (screenshot above).
I have tried installing Leapdroid in my sister's laptop (Windows 10 Home also but was upgraded to version 1607 - not a clean install) and it had no issue. I was able to play Pokémon Go with it.
