Set matplotlib backend to PS to avoid tkinter dependency #43

We are already using the PS backend for OS X, and there appears to be no significant change in the output based on backend, so the test for which system has been removed.

Tested on:

[x] Ubuntu
[x] Windows
[x] Mac OS X
[ ] ???
