Easier to find proper channels: By adding subjects to the search tab #4051

Closed lsolesen closed 1 year ago

Desired behavior

It should be easy to find proper channels with content, that you like to use. As all ressources are tagged with subjects, that would be great to be able to see that in the search bar.

Current behavior

Right now it seems, that the keyword search only searches for descriptions in the channels. If I want to find all channels with content on e.g. 'Computer Literacy', then it would be great with having e.g. subjects in the search.

Value add

Make it easier to find channels with the content, you are looking for.

Possible tradeoffs

Speed?

@lsolesen I really appreciate you for taking the time to file this issue. Trust me, it really helps us!

If I have understood your request correctly, you want to search for channels that have tagged content inside of it. We have this feature lined up for our next major release. Here's the link if you want to take a sneap peak: https://unstable.studio.learningequality.org/en/channels/#/public?keywords=computer%20literacy&page=1.

So, I am closing this. Thanks, again!

Thanks. However, as you are hardcoding the subjects, have you thought about making the subjects something that you can search directly for?

In the future studio release, you will be able to search for any subject, topic, tag by writing in the search bar.
