Site going down when Tooltipy plugin is activated - Error 504 #52

Hi we are using the copy of this plugin which is on the WordPress repository. However, lately we have been getting this error https://www.screencast.com/t/35BoC7OC

After contacting Host support they mentioned an issue with admin ajax from the plugin and after deactivating the plugin all went back to normal and site has been working ok.

We would really want to continue using the plugin and was wondering if there is a fix for this or any update of the plugin as the one on WordPress repository looks to haven't been updated for a while and also not tested with latest WordPress version.

Any advice or help is much appreciated.

Our site is running PHP 7.4.28 and WP version 5.9.3
