Show tasks without due time as whole day events in calendar (not at 12:00PM-12:00PM) #114

Current situation: 1) Currently tasks with only a due date (imported tasks from Toodledo) are shown in Taskunifier calendar view at 12:00 PM. When having several tasks with the same due date and no due time/ 12:00-12:00 PM it gets really crowded. 2) Additionaly the time is shown standard, but the title cannot be seen before hovering around the task with the mouse. 3) When adding a task via Taskunifier a due time seems to be automatically added (current time), without an option to change it, or set it to 'no due time'.

Desired situation: A) show tasks with only a due date (at Taskunifier timed at 12:00 PM - 12:00PM) in calendar view as whole day events. B) show title of tasks instead of due time of tasks at calendar view. C) Provide option to set 'no due time' and option to change due time of task.

Hello,

A) This is a good idea.

B) I will try to show both. Currently, the height of the task in the day calendar depends on the length of this task, so it should only happen if the length is less than 1 hour.

C) This should already be possible: If you don't need the time, you can go to Settings -> Date & Time, and uncheck "Show start time" and/or "Show due time". You can change the time, double click on the start date or due date, then next to the "Ok" button, you have "select time".

I was also wondering why the tasks without a length, but with a due date, were shown as only a thin line in the calendar view.

Let me describe my case: I usually have tasks which last longer than a day, it can be days, weeks, or even months. So, I’d love a week or day view where I could see the spent time per day and per task. Let’s say, I work on three tasks on the same day, then the calender view should show task 1 from hour 12:00 to 13:00, task 2 14:00 to 16:30, taks 3 17:00 through 19:00 or whatever. But this is not the most important thing to me, just an idea.

Hi, I have tried to change the settings with respect to solution C, time can indeed be changed, but I do not see an option to select 'no time'. When adding a new task without having selected 'show due time' via settings, the tasks still is set on current time.

@Torsten-K: This will be soon possible @EllieBruggeman: Indeed, this will be changed in next version, if you don't select "show due time" for example, the due date entries in the calendar will be shown as full day events.

Sounds good, looking forward. Thanks for all work!

@leclercb: Wow, great, thanks in advance!

Point 1) and 3) are already fixed. Point 2) however will not be changed, but as I said, playing with the length will fix this.

What I added, is that now it's also possible to show work logs in the calendar. Will be much more useful than the current start date and due date events.

This will allow to see what you worked on during the week and plan what you want to work on in the future.

Btw, it is also possible now to create a work log entry by selecting a range in the calendar.

Sorry to comment on an old thread, but I was wondering if 3/C in OP's list was ever added. If I have start/due times turned on in settings, I MUST give every task a time when I assign a start/due date. I see no option for all day tasks. I have some tasks that have a specific time they must be done (appointment, meeting, phone call, etc.) and some that I can do at any time of the day, so being able have times turned on but it be optional would be very useful. Currently I have times turned off because the bulk of my tasks do not require a time, but for those that do I must note it to myself some other way (e.g. "Call mom @ 3pm"). Thanks in advance!
