in response to https://dialogue.diogocordeiro.pt/t/que-alternativas-existem-ao-atual-sistema-bancario/83/2:

in ledgerloops, for store of value, you owe your direct peers, or neighbors. so instead of having a national bank where everybody has a bank account, you just have a software application, or a piece of paper, showing "I owe Diogo 100 euros". This may not always be practical, (it's sort of awkward to owe your friends money), so in the end you would probably get 'mini-banks', like for instance rda69 in Lisbon could play the role of being a store of value.

for unit of value, I started working on https://unicurn.com, but I haven't worked out its details yet I do agree with Matheus' remarks, very good questions! I should probably put a paragraph about that on the website, to clarify.

Apart from unit of value, and medium of exchange, the store of value role of money is especially interesting. it implies that value is absolute, not relative. in other words, capital is anonymous in the sense that one person owns money against the universe, instead of two persons having a balance between them.

if this anonymous money is invested, its owner gets rewarded without having to do any work, which means that money at that point does not represent the exchange of value, so that's a bug in the capitalist system.
