After installing NTVDMx64, I right click on my desktop and choose create shortcut.
If the target is a windows program, it works fine.
However, if the target is a 16bit program, the shortcut cannot be created.
Maybe some file association bugs I guess?
Unable to create shortcuts to DOS programs is really annoying.
Please fix this ASAP!
OS: Windows 10 22H2
NTVDM version: Latest CCPU build by 2024/04/11
Windows 3.x application support: Not installed
Instead I used WineVDM for WOW32 support, it has better compatibility.
Note: I don't mind hacking and patching system files in windows using reverse engineering at all, and in fact I'm doing so on the system kernel already to load unsigned 64bit drivers.
I care much more about freedom over security.
NOOOOOO FREAKING WAAAAAAAAY!!! BRO YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOOO NICE!
Thank you so much for fixing this issue!
Finally I can create shortcuts to my favorite dos programs.
Great thanks to you @leecher1337.
