I will have a look at it soon. A an alternative you should consider using the
plug-in
via the standard installation
(http://code.google.com/p/cppcheclipse/wiki/Installation).

Turns out, that my installation instructions regarding the dropin installation
were a
littlebit imprecise. You have to extract the zip file in a new subfolder of the
dropin folder. Only then Eclipse will find cppcheclipse. I updated
http://code.google.com/p/cppcheclipse/wiki/Installation accordingly.

Okay, sorry I didn't read carefully enough, but I recently fixed an issue with
cppcheclipse not appearing in project properties.
Please check if cppcheclipse is loaded by Eclipse at all by going to
?->About->Plug-in Details and look for the three cppcheclipse parts (Core,
Libraries,
UI). If they appear there, the plug-in was loaded successfully.
Then you should find the workspace preferences in C/C++->cppcheclipse (please
note,
that cppcheclipse is no root entry, but below the C/C++-settings).
Please see http://code.google.com/p/cppcheclipse/issues/detail?id=13 for
information
about the bug with the project properties.
Apparently something is wrong with your internet connection in Eclipse. I can't
do
anything about that timeout issue, since it is a local issue. Have you tried
installing other plugins via that mechanism. They should fail also. Other users
had
no problems with installing cppcheclipse over the normal update procedure. I
just
tried it out again with my installations.

Since I can't reproduce the problem with the dropins folder, I will now close
this
issue. Any suggestions for further checks should be made at the forum of
cppcheck
itself (http://sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/cppcheck/). This is only the
issues-list
for the eclipse encapsulation.
