Draft a PDF contract for Meng's steak-eating example #147

If possible, indent/color-code the natural language in said PDF contract to indicate which parts of Meng's L4 code generate the corresponding natural language phrases.

Interesting! Totally keen on working on this.

Do you want the full formal legal shebang or just enough, simple English, to create an agreement? I think the second is probably most congruent with the legal revolution element of this project!

No wrong answer, and I defer to your bizdev expertise. The programmers will be happy with just the code. The goal is to convey the gist to the less techies. Just make it matching colors with the code.

This is my request to re-do this. Yochi/Alexis: can one of you still do this? I was demo'ing the food contract to a VC (fenbushi.vc) and they wanted to see the english.

A food eating contract, as I'd draft it

  1. Buy a Monster Burger and fries for $30.

  2. Your obligation to pay for the Monster Burger and fries will be waived if, within an hour of the purchase, you:

    (a) finish the entire Monster Burger (inclusive of the bun); and (b) finish the entire plate of fried.

note - this is a Carbolic Smoke Ball style unilateral offer, that can be accepted by anyone.

Attempt to draft terms in a similar logic pattern to the manner coded in L4

TERMS OF FOOD CHALLENGE

  1. The Challenger must complete the Food Challenge, consisting of: (a) eating the whole 1kg Monster Burger and Fries; and (b) complete the obligation in clause 1(a), above, within 1 hour (3600 seconds) of the start of this challenge.
  2. Immediately upon the satisfaction of the above, the Restaurant must waive any cost of the 1kg Monster Burger and Fries in clause 1(a) above.

note - this doesn't require the Challenger to pay for the burger if Breach (this follows your L4 drafting)

The TL;DR of my suggested changes to the L4:

  1. obligation to pay for burger
  2. obligation to eat burger within time period
  3. obligation conditional on 2 to waive requirement to pay
