Firefox orange button separates from tabs after closing customize window if SearchWP is active #73

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.You must have your browser in compact mode (firefox orange button and
navigation tabs in the same row)
2. Customize the toolbars. The orange button is separated from the tabs and the
standard menu appears but this is correct. Close the customization window
without doing any change.
3.Firefox orange button is now in its own row (with minimize, windowize and
close buttons) and the tabs are just below instead of next to the orange
button. also, the customize option in the context menu, orange button menu or
standard menu is now ghosted.
4. When you restart Firefox, Everything gets to its normal state again.

Using Firefox 7.0.1 in Windows 7 x64

This failure only happens when SearchWP is activated. When deactivated,
everything works fine.

Can I ask you what you mean by "compact mode"? The orange button and tabs are
in same row when window is maximized. Are you using a particular extension for
such mode?

Hi Robert,

With compact mode I was trying to mean Orange button and tabs in the same row.
Of course, this only can be seen when the window is maximized since when window
is not maximized, orange button is always alone, so this issue can not be seen
with the window not maximized (but the customize option is still greyed out)
BTW, I don't know if the option is "customize" or "personalize" or any other
thing since I'm using the Spanish translation where the term is "Personalizar"

I am unable to reproduce the problem.
Can you check if r184 fixes the issue?

I'm afraid it is still there, but I'm not sure if I've installed r184
correctly. SearchWP still appears to be version 2.6.0. Is that correct?

I downloaded searchwp-r184.xpi and chose to open it with Firefox so the regular
xpi installation/update procedure started and then restarted the Firefox

Yes, it is still 2.6.0.
Have you other activated extensions?

Ok, I've deactivated all extensions except for SearchWP ant it now works
correctly. But with all other extensions activated but SearchWP it works
correctly too, so there must be some interference between SearchWP and some
other extension. I will try to find the offending one

Ok, I found it. The offending one is Link Widgets:
https://addons.mozilla.org/es-ES/firefox/addon/link-widgets/
All addons activated: the problem appears
all addons activated except SearchWP: no problem
all addons activated except Link Widgets: no problem
only SearchWP AND Link Widgets addons activated: the problem appears again

It seems there is some incompatibility when this two addons are both active.

It seams a problem in Link Widgets extensions.
Bug: https://www.mozdev.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=20807
Reviews:
https://addons.mozilla.org/es-ES/firefox/addon/link-widgets/reviews/242849/ and
https://addons.mozilla.org/es-ES/firefox/addon/link-widgets/reviews/191604/.

However, since it seams to break Fx when used with particular extensions (like
SearchWP), I will not close this issue yet, and will do some additional
investigations.

In any case, @artofwal thanks on reporting it and on helping!

Is this still an issue?

Seems fixed.

(tested with Firefox 7.0.1 on Windows 7, using SearchWP 2.6.3 and Link Widgets
1.7.0.1)
