Google Chat support? #564

Google Chat uses https://mail.google.com/chat/u/0/#chat/welcome as the URL so it triggers the Gmail Simplify extension. Mostly it looks good but there are some glitches.

You can go to Google Chat by navigating to https://chat.google.com (it will redirect you)

Here is one glitch you will see almost immediately:

The icon and the search box overlaps.

To be honest that is the only issue I'm currently seeing... Amazing!

System: Chrome 89 on Mac

Thanks! I'll disable Simplify here for now until I can have a proper look at it.

I would actually prefer it to be on. It looks pretty great already :-)

I redacted the conversations a bit (that is why the sidebar is all white)

Agree it is nice... but it isn't 100%. Don't want it out there until I can get it there and I'm focused on launching the subscription at the moment. But will definitely leave this issue open so I get back to it soon.

This issue may be related. I tried turning on "Google Chat" in GMail settings and now I frequently get an "Aw Snap!" error page in the Inbox. Problem goes away if I disable "Google Chat" in GMail settings. Screenshot 2021-06-21 10 05 55

I don't think the "Aw, Snap" error is related to Simplify or this issue (Simplify not working well on Google Chat).

Simplify is currently fully disabled for Google Chat loaded outside Gmail at https://mail.google.com/chat/
