Feature Request - MCDU Hold Page #292

Open NichuNaizam opened 1 year ago

NichuNaizam commented 1 year ago

Is your feature request related to a problem or missing feature? Please describe. I really want the MCDU Hold page. its kinda annoying when VATSIM controllers tell you to hold.

Describe the solution you'd like A fully functional hold in the a320

Additional context Add any other context or screenshots about the feature request here.

Will come eventually... iirc @legoboyvdlp did some(tm) work on it, haven't seen anything in this regard in a while tho so maybe he can tell us what the current state is.

Could this get a bit more priority? I love doing VATSIM in FlightGear and the A320 offers the best experience for it so please if you could get this done quickly

Thanks

NO! we are doing this in our free time... if we don't have time for it and it takes a year, that's it... after all its our free time and you're not paying us for any of it

merspieler commented 1 year ago

oh... if you want to have it to be worked on like right now, there's ONE way to make that happen... do it your self!

NichuNaizam commented 1 year ago

I'm actually a developer and I would love to learn how these work so If there's any tutorials out there I'm ready to learn and do this myself

Those systems are written in Nasal. See the wiki page for loads of info on it.

I'm my self not too familiar with this part of the systems but you might also take a look at a similar pull request where one added the AIRWAYS page to the MCDU: https://github.com/legoboyvdlp/A320-family/pull/284/files

If you need advice, feel free to ask.

The holding function works internally; it's just not exposed to the MCDU, or integrated with the flightplan logic.

Nevertheless, I'll not be able to work on it more for a considerable period of time, sorry.
