Davenport sorely lacks features to hide the CouchDB/HTTP transport in the background. Items include but are not limited to:

Document creation (saveDoc); should be hidden with some magic
Document updates (fetch&save cycle); should be transparently ORM'd?
hide raw replies for view fetches (all the ['rows'][0] hassle)
find out if the user wanted just one reply (usually if key is supplied)
handle CouchDB's HTTP return codes (or require CouchDB >=0.11?)
