A useful addition to this program would be a widget button that let you
start or stop the FTP server from the home screen.

I would like this also.

If there's a way of making it not a widget (perhaps using the Shortcuts menu 
instead?) 
that would be even better.

This is a good idea, but I'm only doing important bugfixes for SwiFTP, and it's
unlikely that I'll add more features.
