Math 4 Wisdom

I invite you to help me create "Math 4 Wisdom", a series of videos and more, by which I am relating what I call the language of wisdom to the language of mathematics.

All of my life I have sought to know everything and apply that knowledge usefully. Since 1982, I have documented a system of cognitive frameworks that I think expresses the limits of the human imagination. I have presented many of my findings in about 45 academic talks that I have given in English and in Lithuanian.

"Math 4 Wisdom" is my endeavor to express my findings (the language of wisdom) in a context where they might be appreciated (the language of mathematics). I will be showing how the cognitive frameworks that I describe are at play in the Yoneda Lemma, the Zigzag Lemma, Bott Periodicity, SU(2), the Poincare group, and other mathematical structures. See my website Math4Wisdom.com

Currently, I am working on my introductory video. Here is my work-in-progress. I present my endeavor but also, as a specific example, discuss the concepts One, All, Many. I understand them as arising from a search for constancy: Either we find One example of constancy, or it is All constantly unconstant. We further assume that what we inspect is what we judge, and in this way the Many are constant. I show that this particular metaphysical distinction can be observed in computability theory in the definition of the minimization operator μ, which is described in the Wikipedia article on general recursive functions. This is an initial example of Math 4 Wisdom to show that the cognitive frameworks I have been documenting have mathematical merit.

Certainly, this is a niche project. I am hoping to discover more people who would care about my work. Ultimately, I hope that my work can serve a community of investigators and communicators of a language of absolute truth so that it might be developed further and applied practically. I am looking for creative people who would help me succeed.

People who are interested to help should want to understand me, for example, what I mean by One, All, Many and how the minimization operator μ expresses these concepts as I conceive them. It is very helpful for me to simply try to get my ideas across to interested people.

Participants, myself included, also need to place their creative work for Math 4 Wisdom in the PUBLIC DOMAIN, copyright-free and restriction-free, for all to use in their own best judgement. This is so that we can develop a community which is not hindered by ownership but respects and fosters absolute truth as belonging to all. I myself will gladly credit all who help me.

If you are interested in supporting my endeavor, then please let me know about your own interests and talents. If you watch what I have made so far, then you can suggest, how would you like to help with this introductory video? Certainly, your feedback can help. Here are a few more ways that come to mind.

These are just some possibilities. I am interested in whatever you might suggest. Most important is to communicate with me so that you understand me and understand what I would find helpful. Please do that before investing too much time!

I am grateful to the Summer of Math Education for creating this opportunity to find collaborators!

About the author

Wondrous Andrius

Andrius Kulikauskas: I was born in California in 1964 but have lived in Lithuania since 1997. I received my PhD in Math from the University of California at San Diego in 1993. I have worked on my philosophy all of my life. From 1998 to 2010, I led the Minciu Sodas laboratory for serving and organizing independent thinkers around the world. I have the resources to devote myself to Math 4 Wisdom for the next 12 months and possibly longer.

Quick Summary

Math 4 Wisdom is a series of YouTube videos and a sprawling website in which I relate my language of wisdom with the language of advanced mathematics at the graduate student level. Explore how the Yoneda Lemma acts as a knowledge switch, Bott periodicity cycles through divisions of everything, and contradiction models God. Apply this knowledge usefully in personal growth, problem solving and peacemaking. Learn and enjoy in the spirit of "Sesame Street" and the "Moorish Cultural Workshop". Wondrous! Andrius Kulikauskas, PhD

The introductory video includes a description of three mental circumstances - One, All, Many - and how they arise in the definition of the minimization operator μ which is key to the theory of general recursive functions.

Target medium

I am creating the introductory video for what will be a series of videos. I also have a website where I present and conduct my research.

I have submitted my video "Introduction to Math 4 Wisdom" to the SOME 2 contest. I welcome your feedback. I will be creating more videos. Please let me know if you'd like to collaborate on them!
