About the author

My name is Evelyn Brylow, I am a student currently, just starting to get into higher math. I am mostly going to go into an algebra field. I’m not sure what I could do in a group, maybe just as a sounding board.

More details

I would like to make something that shows a bit of the process of discovering a topic, because I find that there are very few videos out there that give me any idea of what its like to be a mathematician that aren’t lecture-y.

Hi Evelyn, Id be interested in making a video about cryptography and connections between it and number theory (through using a key modulus number to decipher a seemingly random string of numbers back into a message). If youd be interested let me know, I have been learning manim so I could possibly do the visuals.

that sounds interesting, and you should definitely work on it, but I'm looking to join a more pure math focused group

It could be very interesting to discuss the group behind the RSA cipher (or more generally elliptic curve ciphers). You construct a "number system" from points on an elliptic curve, and define an geometric addition rule from the intersection of this curve and a line. That is; you have two points, draw a line between the two, wherever this line intersects the curve at a third point is the "sum" (almost) of the other two points. Easily animatable too. I would imagine lattice-based ciphers to be a little harder to animate.

Hi! I make videos, many of which are about number theory, since recreational number theory is a huge interest of mine. I've discovered some interesting patterns in my own notetaking, which I haven't put in videos yet as I'm still looking for further patterns in them. Some of the things I discovered I later located research about online which confirmed my hypotheses in deeper ways, but others of them I still haven't found any other research on. None will probably lead to groundbreaking discoveries, but you never know! I would love to discuss (or collaborate on a video) about some of these patterns and/or the great moods it conjures in me to search for patterns and find clues about them myself! Hi, I would like to put up my idea at https://github.com/leios/SoME_Topics/issues/18, it would include stuff like Graph theory and Ramsey theory where animations would be quite useful. Combinatorics is a field which has many applications, so it might not be something that interests you that much, but I want to look at it from a competition math perspective, if that interests you. I may not be an expert, but I hope you consider my idea for a collab

combinatorics is fun, but I really don't like competition math, so I wouldn't enjoy helping with that idea, sorry!
