A* might be good, but i am too much of an idiot to understand how to use it
It has been completed
It's only slightly broken and needs some fixing.
Some issues I noticed and would suggest fixing @noknight12:
The AI can sometimes see you through walls and attempt to navigate straight towards you instead of taking a different path (I have only tested this once but I can try doing it again if you fail to reproduce this)
From my experience, the AI does not really notice you until you get really close to it, and then it will start following you, even from far distances
Dealing damage to the player should not be 1 damage for every frame the player is in sight of the AI. I would suggest making a raycasting system similar to what is found in the weapon system on New-Weapon-System (except maybe using a GameObject as the source of the ray instead of a Camera)

A* just offers more pathfinding variety than NavMesh stuff, and the current AI pathfinding scripts are quite bad
