this should be happening asap, not in the future. a larger game will take more time to port over to a different engine after 0.4.0, the final call will be made on weather the project leaves unity for another engine or if it says
If we switch engines, the only content 0.5.0 will have is the engine switch rather than chapter 2.
As of right now, the idea is the complete this game on unity, and have any future games running on some other platform (if unity goes through with the worst changes imaginable), most likely Godot, but maybe Unreal. The project is already too large to migrate to another platform.
0.5.0 is still most likely gonna be chapter 2 of the game (Hooray!)
Unity has backtracked and will not be charging people who use Unity personal (and the splash screen can be removed (in the 2023 LTS+), hooray). guess I won't have to learn another game engine after this
Starting in 2024, unity is going to charge for every download of a game (if the game's revenue is above 200k per year) (The charge is about 0.20$ per game download)
For a future update (probably around 0.6.0-0.8.0), look into switching to Godot/Unreal/Other game engines as the game engine for Mission: Monkey (If Unity makes this change affect larger companies only/completely ditches the idea)
