Encoding multiple files at the same time uses multiple cores.

Was opening multiple files at once but hadn't noticed the option in preferences
to set the number of threads. Now set at 8 with fantastic results. Default was
only one. Automatically detect and use maximum number of threads could be a
useful default setting, if possible.
Thanks again.

Already implemented. That option is automatically set to the number of logical
processors when you first run XLD.
Multicore support was added in version 20071119 (5 years old!), and core number
detection was added in version 20090825 (3 years old!).

Great, glad to hear it. Somehow my version has been on one. Could have been
user error but am familiar with and would have understood thread settings if I
had actively been changing this.

I'm on an iMac (i7) with Mountain Lion and the latest version of XLD, threads
set to 8, when transcoding FLAC to ALAC I get at most 2 threads. :(
