What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Try to open the attached file in order to convert to flac
2.
3.

How about the reproducibility (always, sometimes, rarely, ...)?
Always for these files.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Sometimes there is an error window that flashes. When using the CLI, it says
'error: cannot handle file'

Expected to see the dialog for the first song, and then the progress bars for
all the files in the directory.
or just the dialog and progress bar for the single song if I selected only one
song instead of a folder.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
 20130720 (144.0) OS X 10.7.5

Please provide any additional information below.
I was able to convert these files with MediaHuman. But that is not ideal. I
would rather that XLD could handle them.

It is an AAC file. XLD doesn't support decoding AAC.
