Extremely slow ripping #212

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Ripping CDs into AIFF or Flac using XLD Secure Ripper
2. Same pattern on Imac, MacBook and external CD reader
3. Reading speed generally 0.2-0.4x (one hour per song) with some occasional
CDs reading at appropriate 3-4X speed
4. I have ripped 200+ CDs last year with same equipment. No problem. I have
however upgraded OS since them on the two computers. May be the source of the
problem?
5. Removed XLD and downloaded an older version. Same problem.

How about the reproducibility (always, sometimes, rarely, ...)?
True for most CDs

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Taking 1+ hour per song instead of 10 minutes per CD

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 20131102 (145.0). Mac OSX 10.6.8

Please provide any additional information below.

I'm also using XLD on OSX 10.6.8, but no issue here.

Can you attach a screenshot of the CD Rip preference tab?

The situation is now resolved. I can't explain what has changed, but the speed
is now good on my two computers
