Xperia X10 input problem #240

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
I have a new Xperia X10 Android phone, but on it ConnectBot doesn't work as
expected.

On that phone I don't have HW keyboard, so I am using the virtual one. The
problem is when I am connected successfully, I cannot see what I am typing.

In fact I am typing, but it's visible only when the virtual keyboard is
disabled. So In order to write a command I need to do the following procedures:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start typing a command like `ls -la` (I cannot see any change after $ sign)
2. If I press "Enter" on vkeyboard the cursor goes on a new row, but
without any command.
3. If I press the Back button (the one which hides the vkeyboard, I can see
that I typed `ls -la` but it's not executed
4. If I open again the keyboard and press enter the command get submitted.
5. If I continue typing instead of new command I need to delete the old one.

What version of the product are you using (you can see this by using Menu
-> About in the Host List)?
ConnectBot-svn-r432-all.apk (downloaded just now) as well as the app from
Android Market.

What type of system are you trying to connect to?
An Ubuntu Server and Debian server, but the same problem is when I connect
to the Local (phone)

If you are able to connect, what is the output of "echo $TERM", "uname -a",
and any other relevant information on the host?
screen (but I tried all other options).

Please provide any additional information below.
For me it look like the Connect bot doesn't encounter (or at least doesn't
visualize the key inputs).

The phone: Sony Ericsson X10 (Xperia)

Are you using landscape or portrait mode?

Kenny,

I found why I had this problem. I've installed an Bulgarian Kayboard application
which allow me to write in my Native language.

So, when switched to the default Android Kayboard everything went fine.

That's it. The case is closed :)
