No connection from HTC Hero possible since 1.6.0 (r454) update

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Simply try to authenticate via password on any host.

What is the expected output?
A password prompt.

What do you see instead?
No password prompt.
Phone tries to connect several times without asking for a password.

What version of the product are you using (you can see this by using Menu
-> About in the Host List)?
1.6.0 (r454 2009.12.22)

Worked with previous version.

I get the same problem on my nexus one. Using r493

I get : "host has disconnected. Close session?"

but I never got a password prompt or anything

I'm having same issue connecting from Motorola Droid to ubuntu 10.4, also 
couldn't
connect when server was ubuntu 9.10
