I haven't tested this script in a while, but if the format of Google Photos Takeout hasn't changed, this should still work as expected :)

also, there are a few other issues after running the code

  1. Many Images after renaming and adding metadata, are not being uploaded to Apple Photos for example I had 1800 photos but only 750 were uploaded rest couldn't and there is a reason mentioned why.
  2. Same with videos
  3. about 150 Images/Videos say metadata is not available in the face it is available in the folder.

Now I am trying to copy those to my iPhone and then upload photos via phone, I will update if this works.

Update: this method worked for photos but not videos
