Contribute this to mainline GNU Emacs #6

Please consider contributing this code for inclusion in mainline GNU Emacs.

I think it has general appeal (git is everywhere) and if it was available by default all Emacs users could benefit. If you would like to do so, you could send an email to bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org declaring your intention to contribute it. If I'm not mistaken, you already have a copyright assignment to the Free Software Foundation?

Hi @skangas,

Indeed it would be nice for git to have completion in emacs. I often run git under M-!. This package may need some fixing to work better with recent git releases. I wonder if you are interested in taking over? Yes I have the paperwork for GNU done a very long time ago.

That's great news! Should I open a bug report or do you want to do it yourself? I'm not sure what you mean by taking over, but I'd be happy to do the work of merging this package into GNU Emacs. I'm sure that over time this would give the package more visibility and encourage more people to contribute.
