Export EXR - MacOS silicon Blender 4.1.1 - 4.2

Hi,

just noticed an issue with both blender 4.1x to 4.2 on silicon Mac. When I hit the export button for EXR cycles files, you'll see the rendering, but with the last sample of the render the image dissapears and the written exr and jpg files are just black.

Is me the issue that I forgot to do something or ...?

Thanks in advance PS: At the moment I try to stop the render before the samples are reached and save it manually.

Quick update: Tested Blender 4.1 on Windows and it works fine.

I'll probably get a Mac in a few days to test.

I am unable to replicate your issue:

We can have a remote session if you want. I'm in PST timezone.

• Standard setup + given filepath -no image output // render disapears after last sample
• Standard setup +EXR + given filepath -image output 1080x540 (you need to check the render settings is not set to 50%)

this is the terminal output when I press the render exr button:

I checked if my compositing nodes make the problem, but no!

That is all I could find. Means: First: You need to check your render settings resolution scale and and file output path.

• If you don't select Auto-Save EXR, it renders and after the last sample the render disapears and no files saved.
• If you select it, it renders and stays, file gets written as jpg and exr in my case.

anything special happening in compositing of you scene? cuz it shouldn't render jpg unless there's maybe a compositing thing that says render as jpg maybe.

As soon as I enabled use nodes in compositing, I got blank page but it saved cuz auto-save exr was checked...

if you uncheck use nodes in compositing, then the export should behave correctly:

I'll see how I can make this easier on user. but no clue yet. :D

Yeah, wired.... I bugtrack and fix if I can for 3 years now, but blender is nerve wrecking... also the devs do their part to this mess as well...

ps: when I check the exr and render with my compositor node setup, I get the image with the composit on top. Also I render usually with most of the render layers to experiment with it.

Anyways, I know now how to, to get the results, but also looking forward to your solution.

What about the terminal output and the filepath attribute error thingy!?
