Hi,

I‘ve got the 9300 Ubuntu Dev Edition with i7, 16gig, 512ssd and FHD display. BIOS Version is 1.5.0. I applied the mentioned BIOS settings, used the EFI_big_sur_boot EFI and a full Big Sur 11.2.3 installer.

Sadly the install always fails at a similar stage. It says About 14 minutes remaining, then my cursor stops responding.

I already tried to modify the files on the EFI partition. Tried OpenCore 0.6.9 and the most recent versions of all the .kexts. I also tried adding NVMeFix.kext.

The moment of failure seems to mostly stay the same. From try to try, the hang can also come earlier, when I‘m getting bored and randomly click through the menus while installing.

I also experienced multiple hangs when trying to format the SSD through Disk Utility, doesn‘t matter if through GUI or Terminal. Terminal success rate was higher, though.

I‘m fairly new to the whole OpenCore thing, so I can‘t really interpret these symptoms. Can anybody give me any advice on how to proceed from here?

Thank you all for the incredible effort making these things possible in the first place!

Best regards.

I‘m very sorry, I littered this place with my newbie issue. The issue was the PM981 Samsung factory SSD. I changed it out for a WD Black 750 and now everything seems fine.
