Typescript Build #1130

Step 1:

[x] Setup build
[x] Update and configure Eslint
[x] Figure out what to do with the current UMD module export
[x] Fix initial Typescript issues/violations
[x] Release with new build process, without other changes

Step 2:

[x] Resolve new Eslint violations
[x] Convert var to let/const
[x] Start adding interfaces and types

Step 3:

[x] Enable strictNullChecks
[x] Resolve remaining @ts-ignore
[ ] Resolve remaining any

Step 4:

[x] Consider rename of distribute to dist (#923)
[x] Add declaration to tsconfig and types to package.json

Step 5:

[x] Remove DefinitelyTyped types
