I am using the Github Assistant on a Pixelbook Go, although I have stuck with 4.0.7 and using the old script editor.

Is gas-github not compliant with Chromebook ?

Getting the same message on MacOS with Version 99.0.4844.51 (Official Build) (x86_64) I think that likely something got deprecated or changed on the GitHub side of things.
Same error on macOS with version 103.0.5060.114 (Official Build) (x86_64). Makes this extension effectively useless. This appears to be a duplicate of Issue #138 (which is also un-fixed).
I had this problem pop up suddenly after I had been using it on Windows 10 for awhile. Uninstalling Chrome (with removing Data) and reinstalling Chrome, then re-adding the extension fixed the issue for me. Although I suspect uninstalling the extension, removing all of it's data from the file system, and reinstalling it would have worked as well.
This error is likely due to a lack of secondary login to Chrome (GAS editor) again. When installing the extension and the (green) dialog comes up and you have to log into Github, do that with your Github login, and then continue by logging into Chrome/Google to give permission to the extension to access the browser side. Worked for me.
