Several Crashes :( #111

My PC runs Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 64 bit, using ATI 4870 card, latest
dx build.

If you use a large generated map(multi), select federation as your race,
set some research stations building and then research the pre-requisite
tech and tech for excelsior class ships it seems to crash, tried it twice
whilst it crashed at different times, (1st dumps + dxdiag (given size to
large to attach both in same issue) attached) on the medium map, however
and no issues, but, after a few minutes of play having built up a small
fleet with two ambassador's, and just cleared the pirates out of the second
planet, when my mirander class scout was the only really active unit,
checking out the next planet it crashed again.

This time it just insta-quit no messages not even the vista crash popup, i
had saved it in-between, re-ran it crashed again alas this time crashed
within a minute, this time with the vista crash popup , for some odd reason
mini-dumps weren't generated for the last few, not quite sure what's wrong
but it very much seems not to like me, I had a similar experience of the
last built I tried some while ago for sins 1, only I never got through a
few minutes on it, perhaps my settings or something I have on it doesn't
like? Ship Mesh is disabled as mentioned in readme, my resolution is
1900x1200 @ 60 hz, 4xAA, all ship/planet settings at highest (bloom disabled).

Running SoA2 0.03e. 102, on Entrenchment(impulse edition) running on v 1.041

The current version of the mod is crashing at random times since the release of
Entrenchment 1.041. We are currently working on rebuilding the mod to fix these
problems. If you want to play the mod still a "possible" fix is do NOT play 
against
federation AI. This may or may not fix the problem, if it doesn't work, as 
mentioned
previously a new build is underway.

Ok thanks for the information, i'll try it next game, i've been able to keep it 
going
by saving every minute or two, if you keep doing that it lasts 10-20 mins before
crashing on average, anything relating to a federation shipyard and the repair 
shield
function should you view it zoomed in seems to increase the likelihood of a 
crash,
and so by only repairing shields zoomed out it seems to crash less lol, I read 
that
the latest build is under closed beta, might I enquire as to how one can apply 
to
beta test?

We aren't AFAIK opening the dev version up. The entire mod team do beta tests 
so the
need for beta testers is really low until we release a public version.
