Something odd going on w/ Dom hud icons #180

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
I have never seen this and don't know what can cause it, but some of the
Hud icons for the Dom are whited out - especially when the picture it's
covering goes from un-researched to researched.

I tried to attach a screenshot, but Google doesn't wanna let me for some
reason today.

If I had to guess, maybe the size of the images that are used as hud icons
are slightly off, leading to them being whited out when Sins tries to put
the border around them that shows that they are researched, but I really
have no clue. Maybe it's just me, I don't know.

Size doesn't really cause an issue, but I'll check it out.

I checked it out and didn't find anything wrong. Would you mind specifying
which
icons appear whited out?

See attached file (IE will let me upload, but firefox will not for some
reason).

Basically, my military tree for ships started out as normal, but as I
researched,
each icon I researched was replaced with a white box like in the screenshot.

In addition, the icons on the frigate and cap ship factory worked the same way:
when
the ship was unavailable, it seemed to appear, but then once available I had to
mouse over the (white) icon, and while hovering over it I could see the icon as
it
was supposed to be. Also, the infocard icons were white for all Dom ships I
saw.

Also, please see if you can duplicate the error with the Borg faction.

I still can't reproduce the error, so any changes make are like blind surgery
with me
just hoping I'm cutting on the right organ. If someone wants to get a hold of
me on
messenger to help me fix it, I'd be grateful.

I can't reproduce anymore, or with the borg. I think that it must have been a
temporary problem, maybe some file versions got out of synch or something. It
seems
to work fine now.

I did exchange one texture file that had it's name screwed up during import.
There
was nothing different about the Dominion ships in that texture file, though.

Who knows? Maybe it was deleting the oddly misnamed file. Anyhow, at least
it's
fixed. Let me know you notice anything else odd.
