Made a couple of fixes:

Added a .gitignore file
Refactored settings.gradle to make it easier to disable bindings with non-Maven dependencies

thanks for the tweaks. I've pushed some major changes and the benchmark is closer to being functional again after some major design changes. The runtime benchmark can be run. Not sure about anything else.
