Write manual pages #352

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Debian policy requires manual pages for all executables, so I've written manual
pages for lsar and unar. I've attached them in case you want to add them to
the project. Otherwise, feel free to close this report and I'll maintain them
separately in the Debian package.

I guess unar and lsar need some real man pages with more useful information,
too. But these work as placeholders until then.

However, I still want to improve the command-line interface, so spending too
much effort documenting how it works now isn't all that useful. At some later
point, I should sit down and write something proper. I'll probably include
these for now though.

Jason Woofenden noted that the description of the -nr option in the unar.1
manual page wasn't correct (it used the lsar description). I've attached a
new, fixed version.

Actually, a lot of the options for both tools have changed completely, and lots
of new ones have been added. The whole thing needs to be rewritten for the
current version, but I have been too busy to deal with it. If anyone could at
least just copy over all the descriptions of the options currently in use, that
would be a great help.

lsar's -L and -v options and unar's -v option are not documented in their
respective manual pages. The attached patch documents them.
