Great! It seems to work fine, thanks. Can you explain the "wb -Chg" status line ticker? Why the "-Chg" part? Can we disable it?

That's customized through highlight-changes-visible-string, it comes from highlight-changes-mode.

Alternatively, you can use diminish.el
