Website running really slow during TimThumb caching and sometimes not loading properly #470

I have an issue where my website has loads of images and posts. When it starts
caching, I get a message saying 100s of my files are changing from my security
tool I use in wordpress and my website runs really slow and sometimes doesn't
load until you click refresh. This lasts for around 2 hours and some of the
pages disappear from the navigation until its finished. When its complete it
all goes back to normal, but this happens daily and my client is understandably
not very happy.

I have the latest Thumb file with the latest code in my themes folder
http://mydomain.com/wp-content/themes/themename/thumb.php

I have also tried editing the thumb file to increase the gaps between the
caching to stop my website going down, but it still seems to cache daily and
doesn't look like its using my settings in the 'thumb.php' file

if(! defined('FILE_CACHE_TIME_BETWEEN_CLEANS')) define
('FILE_CACHE_TIME_BETWEEN_CLEANS', 8886400); // How often the cache is cleaned

Does the Thumb.php file have to have a certain name or configuration I should
use. I have read in some places I need to have timthumb-config file which I
don't have in the folder. How can I get my website to use my configuration?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks
Billy

I have the same problems, and I know a lot of people with the same problem.

Your not running Better WP Security are you by any chance? I linked my issue
to that plugin.
