Message notification from 'Unkown' after sending MMS

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Enable 'Delivery reports' and 'Read reports' for MMS messages within the 
default messaging app
2. Send an MMS message

Within about 15 seconds SMS popup will come up with a notification for an 
MMS from '(Unknown)' when there is in fact no incoming message.

Motorola Droid (Verizon)
Firmware Version 2.1-update1
