What does Handcent have?

Thank you for your quick response!
I have attached screenshots from my phone of what Handcent currently offers.
They have three different base icons and then numerous colors of those three.
Since you recently added the ability to change the notification icon you could
easily add the different color variations of the three you are already offering.
If you need any help I am not familiar with the SDK but am trying to learn, but
I can certainly edit the images to numerous different colors if you supplied me
with the base images.
I hope you are able to do this as it is one feature I am jealous Handcent has.

Ahh I see. So you can select the icon first, and then the color second? I can
definitely add more icons to the list, I'm not sure if Handcent dynamically
adjusts the color or if they just keep a static list of graphic files for all
the diff colors.
I'm terrible at producing graphics, if you can contribute these alternatives
that would be great (either different colors or different icons altogether).
The current icons can be found here:
http://code.google.com/p/android-smspopup/issues/detail?id=82
For each icon I need a standard res version (25x25 pixels) and a high-res
version (38x38 pixels).

The way Handcent does it is they just give a long list of icons to choose from.
The list just consists of three different types of icons and numerous different
colors of those icons.
If you were able to develop it so that you can click the icon style and then
choose the color from a list it would be much cleaner but I understand that is
harder also.
Doing it dynamically would be very cool but I know that is way above my head. I
have always wondered how you could choose the color of an image using a
slider....
I can get cracking on making the colored versions of the three different icons
you already use and then I will try to get creative and think of some new icons
(hmmm).

Dynamic would be great, but probably would make this change a little too much
work (there are other things I'd probably rather spend time on). A static list
is pretty straight forward.
It would be good to get inverse versions of the icons as well (as some phones
have light notification areas and some have dark).

Great job with the added feature!!! I love it!!! The only thing that would make
this feature better would be to be able to use a different notification icon
for each contact similar to how the LED color and vibration patterns can be
different. For example my girlfriend could be Android Pink, my mom HTC Pink,
and my dad Motorola Blue.

I love the idea of colored icons and different shaped icons. Would it be
possible to add this custom feature to the "Contacts Notifications" menus
listing instead of defaulting all messages to this format or even both? It'd be
great to have the option of setting colored icons (as well as sounds and
vibrations) to individual contacts. Thank you

A fully revamped version of SMS Popup is now available in the Google Play
Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.everythingandroid.smspopup
I am closing out all old issues/bugs that relate to SMS Popup <=1.10 as so much
was changed in this version. Please create new issues if you see them in the
latest update.
