This should be relatively easy to fix, will try and get it in for the next
release.

Thank you. I am highly looking forward to the fix. Keep up the good work! This
app is probably one of my favorites, if not, the best.

Roughly, what is the ETA for this patch? Thanks for the work!
Original comment by PatWeder...@gmail.com

I already committed the changes to the code, so it should be in the next
release (next 2 weeks or so).

Any update on this fix? I really want to reinstall this app, but it's unusable
with this issue.

Update? 2 weeks was stated on August 30th!

i had to uninstall this app because of this problem. Chomp and Handcent have
options to disable vibrations while in call, why cant this? this is by far the
best pop up app and its a shame i can use it until this gets fixed.
ANY word on the ETA?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I agree with everyone else. Please push this update for us G2 users; we love
your product!

Hopefully REALLY soon. this thing should be stock on android phones. my phone
isnt the same without it.

Glad to see this is being worked on. I really love this app but it is annoying
to others that hear the phone vibrating . . . Any chance I will see an update
in the not so distant future?

i know this DEV takes a while to release updates, but i have faith that it will
work. i will even email him a pic of my boobs if that will get it out faster!
;)

If that doesn't help, a pic of your boobs would definitely make me push him to
release this sooner

anything to get this app updated sooner! and i've got some nice big boobs.

I'm sure it will at least get the dev's attention, lol. Upload the pic here

WOW! If boobs can't make this update come out faster, nothing will. too bad,
it's a great app that i have to stop using.

Here's a debug version with the fix in:
http://code.google.com/p/android-smspopup/downloads/detail?name=SMSPopup-1.1.0-d
ebug-1.apk
Can one of you install and try it out to see if it fixes this issue?

cool, i wasnt expecting this! it works, it no longer vibrates while on a call,
but it also doesnt notify you of any text at all. with hancent it will beep
while on a call.
Original comment by RickAnge...@gmail.com

If someone can find me a nice "beep" sound file I will add this back in. Does
it play via the speakerphone or via the headset when on the phone?
Original comment by adam.eve...@gmail.com

I have one of the system sounds now.
Original comment by adam.eve...@gmail.com

I can provide a beep. Where should I sent it?
Original comment by PatWeder...@gmail.com
on 3 Dec 2010 at 3:48
You should be able to just attach it here. I do have a system .ogg file so may
just use that for now.
Original comment by adam.eve...@gmail.com

I think ultimately it would be nice to be able to pick whatever sound we want.
I am at work so my sound selection is pretty scarce. Here's a test sound.
nothing too loud or long. it's called "plastic pipe".

Thanks again for all of this. i will definitely be donating!
but if there is a better beep, please attach that one.

how about just using the currently selected notification tone but playing it
through the ear piece? i tried it and it seems to work well (as in, i can
continue my conversation but can clearly hear i have a new message).
Original comment by adam.eve...@gmail.com
on 3 Dec 2010 at 7:42
i think that would be good! maybe just at a lower volume?

Here's a new test version:
http://code.google.com/p/android-smspopup/downloads/detail?name=SMSPopup-1.1.0-d
ebug-2.apk
Please try it out and see how it sounds when you get a message while on the
phone.
Original comment by adam.eve...@gmail.com

tried it and it still didnt make a sound while on a call.
Original comment by RickAnge...@gmail.com
on 4 Dec 2010 at 5:25
it might just be that the volume is too low. can anyone else try this as well?
it works fine on my phone (nexus one) but it would be good for people with
other phones to try.

I have a G2 and I hear the alert loud and clear with no vibrations. Sadly, so
does the person that I'm talking to. Anyway that just I could hear the alert
and not my caller?
Original comment by greyhave...@gmail.com

Does the sound come out of the speaker phone or the headset piece?
Original comment by adam.eve...@gmail.com

[deleted comment]
The sound just comes out of the headset piece on both ends of the call.
Original comment by greyhave...@gmail.com

Here's another debug version, please try again and let me know. I tested this
on a Nexus One and G2 and it worked for me. NOTE that I made "notify on call"
an option now that is defaulted to OFF, so you need to go into Notification
settings and turn it on for the notification to sound while you are on the
phone.

Glad to see the update! It's exactly what I was hoping for. I think the volume
is just right, and needs no adjustment. After getting the update, I donated to
you for the great work. Thanks for being a dev that listens!!! :)
