SMSpopup broke text app #184

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Since installing SMS Popup, when a text is recieved, something automaticall
kills the built in messaging app. If a message was being typed, it is lost.
2. When a text is recieved, the default messaging app is forced closed (not
force close error, the app is "killed") and the user is returned to the home
screen. Any notifications from the messaging app are also lost.
3. The app seems to be killed whether it is actively being used or not.
(Notifcations disappear even if messaging app is not currently on screen)

Problem occurs even if SMS Popup is disabled and continues even after uninstall.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Built in messaging app is "killed" externally whenever a new text is recieved.
The message is not lost and all other apps with access to the message still
function normally, but the user must relaunch the messaging app to view the new
message.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
SMS Popup 1.0.9
Android 1.6 on Motorola Devour with MotoBlur (Rooted)
Using ADW.Launcher as homescreen

Please provide any additional information below.
Problem did not start until SMS Popup was installed and only after changing the
configuration of popups to use "Reply", "Inbox", and "Close" buttons.
Other settings at time bug appeared:
Popup displays for all messages
SMS content is hidden if popup was displayed while phone was "sleeping"
SMS Popup will wake phone, with screen dimmed, when displaying a popup while
sleeping
Quick Reply disabled

Default Messaging app's notifications enabled, SMS Popup's notifications
disabled
Also using "SayMyName Dessert" to verbally announce new messages (no problems
with this app)

When a message is recieved, sometimes the notification from the default
messaging app will appear, but be immediately removed when the app is "killed"
